Don’t you just love the sound of Yamaha bass guitars ?….

….I do and to be honest, I think the sound of the bass together with the sound of drums are my favourite two sounds in music. Yes, I like the sound of  keyboards a lead guitar and the rhythm guitar, but the sound of the bass is where its at – at least for me anyway.

Okay, so you might not agree with me here but I’m going to say it anyway;- If I had to pick just two bass guitars to listen to all day I would go got the Yamaha PBX 170 and the Yamaha PBX 375.

For me the Yamaha RBX bass guitars simply cannot be beat, both on looks and sound, and also on price when I think about it. They are a great guitar and can be bought at a great price.

A friend of mine disagrees with me on this and he argues that THE best looking bass guitar has got to be a headless bass, and I can see his point, they do I have to admit look good, but I’m more of a bass guitar traditionalist and although the headless bass looks great I’m sticking to my guns with Yamaha Bass Guitars especially the RBX bass guitars.

Also in my defense is the fact that to get a great sounding well build headless bass guitar you have to spend quite a bit more of your hard earned cash on one. You can get a Yamaha RBX bass for almost have the cost of a headless bass and the Yamaha will sound better. You might of course agree with my friends point of view, but I’m just saying what I think.

Out of all the Yamaha bass guitars, the RBX has to be one of my favourites

I’m not a great lover of the acoustic bass guitar I have to say, but I can see why you might want to buy one, its just that I don’t really see the point unless you play in an acoustic based group or band and even then you can play unplugged with your electric bass if you’re in a small group.

There are some great and weird looking custom bass guitars out there used I suppose mainly by rock stars such as Gene Simmons with his axe shaped bass. They look great but as an everyday bass, I’m not too sure.
